Welcome to Manuscript #10
We have just started our 3rd year in business, so it's something of a milestone for us and, as ever, it is packed with information about our new releases and what we have been up to in the last couple of months as well as some details of new pens 'in the pipeline'.
Churchill Poppy Pen
Conway Stewart pens we have released since the last newsletter, including the wonderful Wordsworth in Burgundy Blush - so elegant! - and the magnificent Poppy Pen.
As some of you will be aware, Conway Stewart issued a Poppy Pen in July 2014, just before the factory closed, and it is now highly collectable. This latest version of the Poppy pen has a different engraving on the barrel and cap, but still exudes the same elegance and understated sophistication which gives it its distinctive Britishness. It has been launched in time for Remembrance Day 2016 - a poignant reminder of the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
This Churchill Poppy pen has a chased (engraved) barleycorn pattern on both barrel and cap that make it very, very tactile. Add the sterling silver fitments and the 2-tone rhodium/gold nib and you have a pen that looks simply magnificent. But there's more...! We have added anenamelled button to the top of the cap representing a poppy. As a pen that aims to provide a poignant reminder of bravery in appalling conditions, this Churchill Poppy pen has no equal.
Conway Stewart Dandy
The Dandy has long been a much-loved Conway Stewart. Small, but perfectly formed!
First up is the Carbon Black. It's difficult to show the nuances of light and dark in this material in a photograph. You've really got to rotate it slowly in your hand to realise how subtle the colour variations are... from almost white to jet black; from steel blue to aquamarine. Understated but very classy!
The Azure is a complete contrast. There's no subtlety here! These colours are bright and breezy like a tropical sea. If you prefer to make a statement with your pens, then this one is for you.
Galaxy is similar to the Nebula - a mix of deep red and black with a hint of blue, whereas the 4th in this new collection, the Burgundy Ripple is more straightforward - black and red swirled together like a pot of paint.
Wordsworth in Burgundy Blush
The Wordsworth is a classic British fountain pen. Classic style, outstanding design and always looks good in your hand. Perhaps not one of Conway Stewart's best-known models but we think it deserves recognition for what it is - a superb example of British craftsmanship. Only a handful now remain. Order soon to avoid disappointment.
Pencils, Rollerballs and Ballpoints
We have been promising to offer pencils, ballpoints and rollerballs in addition to fountain pens and have recently added some to a small number of our products.
